Food Tour with Step-On Guide This popular tasting tour explores the diverse cuisine of “America’s Finest City,” and is led by a knowledgeable and charming step-on guide who is a local expert on this area and a true foodie! While we explore some of San Diego’s most unique and interesting neighborhoods, we will experience first-hand the city’s burgeoning local food scene – most of the establishments we will visit have become neighborhood icons and some have even been featured on the Food Network as “must try” places. In the hip North Park area of Downtown, we will see its Craftsman-style neighborhoods and learn about its fascinating history, as well as sample delicious coal-fired, thin-crusted “craft pizza pies” at a trendy restaurant. The East Village was the “Warehouse District” for a growing San Diego from the late 1800s to the late 1900s, and then became an artists’ colony and eventually home to the ballpark and new Central Library. Here we will sample beer at a brewery considered to be one of the top craft breweries in San Diego County. While we taste in its impressive tasting room located in the historic Wonder Bread building we will learn how San Diego has become the “Micro Brewery Capital of America.” Ocean Beach is San Diego's funkiest beach town and it has been said that the 1960's never left this community; the locals have been known to protest anything that might change its unique small town atmosphere. Here we will sample some down-home barbecue favorites at Phil’s BBQ, voted “Best BBQ” by San Diego Magazine for 11 straight years and featured on the television show, Man vs. Food. Hillcrest was one of San Diego’s first suburbs thanks to the streetcars that made it a convenient connection to downtown; it has evolved into a community known for its diversity, theaters, shopping, and fabulous restaurants, but it hasn’t lost its village feel! Here we will sample treats at a San Diego institution specializing in an ever-changing menu of sweets that are baked fresh daily and hailed as some of the best desserts in San Diego. The shop has won national awards for its cakes, pastries and other treats. All visits subject to change. Click here for important trip information.

He is especially loved by our passengers for his charismatic personality and unique stories. Since the birth of the movies, Hollywood pioneers and stars have not only left their “handprints and footprints” at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre, but in countless other places around the city. The iconic Hollywood Bowl is one of L.A.’s most historic landmarks and has played a major role in music, entertainment and has helped shaped the careers of the legends of music whom have been performing here for more than 100 years. Visit the Bowl and the Hollywood Bowl Museum to see memorabilia associated with this beloved venue. Visit the Hollywood Heritage Museum, home to fascinating artifacts and photos of early Hollywood. The museum is housed in the Lasky-DeMille Barn, built in 1901 and recognized for playing a significant role in the birth of the Hollywood motion picture industry. Next, a short stroll along Hollywood Boulevard, stopping at the Hollywood & Highland complex and the Dolby Theatre, home of the Academy Awards. We will visit the forecourt of the legendary Grauman’s Chinese Theatre which is adorned with the handprints and footprints of your favorite Golden Age stars (pending availability). See famous landmarks and hear wonderful stories as we cruise along the legendary Sunset Strip.
