Take the next step in your photography adventure in this fun, interactive, and hands-on workshop. Grab your digital camera and learn how to take it off the auto mode for more creative picture taking. Topics include:
- Use camera settings beyond auto
- Understand the relationship between ISO, shutter speed and aperture for greater control in your photography
- Read your camera's histogram to improve photographic exposure
- Use important elements of composition for more dynamic photos
- Learn about various types of lighting and how lighting strengthens images
- Upload images to social media and to albums on your computer
Students need to bring a fully adjustable digital camera (SLR or mirrorless), camera manual, fully charged batteries, and a media card. In addition to classroom instruction, we will go outdoors on campus to shoot pictures in the afternoon (weather permitting). There will be ample opportunity for questions, discussion, and review of students’ work on a voluntary basis.
