New!This course introduces both beginners and intermediate painters to the idea of action painting and the abstraction of a mark. Students will develop and refine painting techniques such as dry brushing, paint building, paint/ink transferring and paint dripping. One of the concepts covered is the abstraction of the figure, the object, and the landscape; and by using various processes, students will learn how to integrate unplanned mark-making into their abstract painting. This course uses an experimental approach to the idea of "Chance" in determining the process of painting. Get ready for an active paint class. We use Acrylic paint, markers, pencils, pastels and water color. Note: Students must provide their own materials and bring them to the first class. The supply list is available at:
