What They Are & How They Work
This course is perfect for those who want to learn more about the stock, bond, and mutual fund markets and how they work. Topics covered will include how to read the financial information found online, what influences the prices of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds; load and no-load mutual funds, ETF’s; how interest rates can affect your financial well-being, and how to manage risk. The course will highlight issues such as stock and index options, domestic and global stock markets, new and hot issues, selling short, tax-free bonds, buying stock on margin, how the stock exchanges work, dollar cost averaging, how to read a typical account statement, retirement plans (IRAs, SEP-IRAs, Roth IRAs, 403Bs, 401ks, Annuities) and how market prices respond to news. Several stock market theories will be discussed and explained.
