Wilderness Survival Basics

 
Could you survive if you were lost in the woods? What do you need to know? In this course, students will learn the essentials, such as how to make fire without matches, how to create a shelter, how to make sure the water is pure, and how to find water when none seems present. We will cover the necessity of proper outdoor planning, and which tools and supplies you should bring along. And we will discuss the kinds of plants to search for in the wild which can provide for your needs, such as yucca, willow, and mulefat. Food, first aid, and navigation will be addressed.
