Intermediate
Join us as we delve more deeply into the art of flute playing. Students will learn how to play in the five most common musical modes (Major, Minor, Dorian, Lydian and Mixolydian); learn to use song charts, e.g., “finger charts” and NakaiTab; experience choosing and performing with backing tracks; and learn strategies for “jamming” with others, e.g., flutists, drummers, guitarists or other instrumentalists. Students need to bring their Native American Style Flute tuned in A Minor for group exercises, and also, should you have one, may bring your Native American flute in other keys for solo exercises.
